Just Some Good Thoughts…

  • 5 min read

Recently, I decided to produce the audio version of my book, “Just Some Good Thoughts…” I hired the most excellent narrator who masterfully wove his voice into my narrative. As part of the publishing project, I needed to listen to the audio files and suggest edits if needed. As I listened to the chapters, I couldn’t help but feel the love and freedom blended into those words. It actually made me feel good and reminded of the very things I need to hear often. So how about you? Are you enjoying this experience of life? At your core level, are you happy? Are you satisfied with how things turned out or do you have a bit of lament going on? Are you relaxed inside and feel like things are under control? Or, are you living with daily angst and anxiety about the future? The point is, lest you missed it, that we have just one experience, at least in this body, of this present life. We have one run through and it’s not a dress rehearsal, well not really. You are already here so you may as well learn to enjoy it. It’s not too late to recover anything that you lost; be it enthusiasm, peace, contentment or satisfaction. If you lost it somewhere, you can get it back. You owe it to yourself and to the One that gave you life, to get it back. Just some good thoughts…

I think we are all clear that the world, or rather the systems of the world, have done a good job of screwing people’s lives up. As unsuspecting victims, people get led down the same old paths that always works on humans and, suffer as a result. Their lives are imperceptibly stolen from them, piece by piece, little by little. Relationships are soured and connections between people diminished. Some can’t seem to escape health issues that pile on as they age. Others are wracked by anxiety and fear, surviving the days. And, the reason people live this way is because they perceive no other choice. “It’s just the way it is” they say. Or, “I’m just happy I woke up today.” Both statements assuming a reality that is not a reality. It is not the way things are, it is the way the world told you it is and they are. Similarly, while being happy to wake up is good, there is a lot more to this life than that. Everyone living wakes up and dead folks don’t know otherwise. Yet you can be living and not really living, if you know what I mean? You can do a whole of of going through the motions. If you are just passing time, I dare say you ain’t really living even if you are happy that you woke up. Just some good thoughts is about learning to live again. It’s about hearing the truth that sets you free. It’s about seeing evil for what it is and learning how to loosen its grip around your life (and your neck).

Your thoughts are your problem and your thoughts are your happiness as well. When you learn what is really true and embrace it, you find yourself in a different space. The light exposes the darkness. You start to hear and recognize those dastardly thoughts floating by and as such, can wrestle them into submission. Everything passing through your processor isn’t true. I would hazard most of it isn’t. Your thoughts will be a compilation of whatever it is you listen to the most. And, most of what the world tells you isn’t true. You really ain’t that bad! (But inside you sure feel that way at times, don’t you?) If you don’t believe in paying attention to your thoughts, I can assure you the old accuser has been defining your life for you and suggesting all of the outcomes coming your way. Why can’t you just relax and be yourself? Why can’t you live your life exactly how you want to live it? Is God really upset with you? Or, have you been trained to listen to the wrong voice posing as God and goodness and morality? Do you really think God nags you with things all day long? Really? Would God be stealing away all of your present moments and happiness and joy with perpetual “something might be wrong” thoughts? Our blindness is in not knowing what God says is true versus what the devil, the systems of the world, the universal error is saying is true…all day long! Most of, if not all of the joy stealing comes from our failure to discern who it is we are discussing things with. Who are we answering? Who are we justifying ourselves to? Your thoughts can lead you back to happiness if you control them. Learning how to think and what to think makes all the difference between a happy life and a miserable one. Just some good thoughts…

I wrote “Just Some Good Thoughts” for you and for me. I endeavored to say what I needed to hear backed by the truth of God’s Word with love, delivered in kindness, full of compassion and mercy and good fruits. It’s a love letter from me to you or maybe more humbly, from me and God to you. It is an introduction. A pre-meeting. A connection at the highest possible level. It is the promise of the answer you need and much more. We have all given darkness too much power over our lives and it is time we recovered what is rightfully ours. Get your life back! Just some good thoughts…
